A simple question
Recently I was in Belgium for an introduction, nice conversation. One specific question kept me busy on the way back:
"Can your sensors be recovered if they are in the roof?"
For me, this is so obvious that I never actually mention it in conversations. But: Our sensors have an RFID chip and with a handheld RFID reader you can read them remotely. The reader returns a sensor number and the signal strength. Moving around makes the signal stronger or weaker, and so step by step you narrow the search area - just until you know exactly where the sensor is. Sort of like a metal detector, but on a flat roof looking for sensors.
And the great thing is: you don't have to open the roof, break anything up, no hassle. Just point and click. Sometimes distinctiveness is where you rarely think of it yourself.
